Why Do LED Lamps Have Dead Lights?

May 30, 2022

Static electricity is a great evil to LED lamps. There are countless electronic components damaged by static electricity in the world, causing economic losses of tens of millions of dollars. Therefore, preventing static electricity from damaging electronic components is a very important work in the electronic industry. Enterprises engaged in LED packaging and application must not take it lightly. If any link goes wrong, it will cause damage to the LED, deteriorate the LED performance or even fail. We know that human body (ESD) static electricity can reach about 3000 volts, which is enough to break down and damage LED chips. It is also very important to check whether the grounding resistance of various equipment in the LED packaging production line meets the requirements. Generally, the grounding resistance is required to be 4 ohms, and the grounding resistance of some fields with high requirements even needs to be ≤ 2 ohms.

Some enterprises adopt manual welding and use 40 Watt ordinary soldering iron. The welding temperature can not be controlled. The soldering iron temperature is above 300-400 ° C. excessive welding temperature will also cause dead lights. The expansion coefficient of LED leads at high temperature is several times higher than that at about 150 ° C. the internal gold wire solder joints will pull apart the welding points due to excessive thermal expansion and cold contraction, resulting in dead lights.

In view of the above phenomena, LED projection lamp package manufacturers and LED lighting lamp application manufacturers should formulate strict led standard operation manuals to prevent online phenomena in the production process.
